The engine was starting a little rough, but smoothed out after 15 seconds of warm up….Jim figured one of the glow plugs must not be doing its job…. so he pulled them when we got home. One was in pretty bad shape….and tested no good. (can you guess which one?)
The rest showed a lot of wear so he is replacing them all, even though they tested ok.
Wasn't the engine just rebuilt?
ReplyDeleteLarry...glowplugs, pumps, injectors etc are not part of a "rebuilt long block".

I guess it just looked all clean and spiffy...
ReplyDeleteHow did Jim check the glow plugs
ReplyDeleteI want to say Happy Holidays. I've been a reader of your trips since the AC days. It's nice to see that you are living the fine life of cruising slow and making the most of the time you spend on the water. I only wish that I was more of a "Jim" on working on the boat and less of a "Shemp".
ReplyDeleteWarmest regards to the both of you and happy lingering in 2010.
Foster
